The College of Law Holds a Symposium on Spiker Camp's Crime
On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of Spiker Camp's massacre, the College of Law held a symposium on this horrid event on 3 November, 2024. Miss Sara M. Saleem, a faculty member in the College, pointed out that ISIS in this respect committed one of its most hideous crimes where1700 soldiers and trainees were mercilessly slaughtered in the Presidential Palaces in Salah Eddin Province. She referred to the criminal dimensions of the crime from both local and international levels. It is a terrorist crime in all respects. She referred also to the U.N. report on this crime by the Investigation Team that considered the crime as an example of genocide. The report added that such a crime amounts to a war crime and a crime against humanity. The lecture witnessed interventions and comments on the part of teaching staff members and students on the legal dimensions of the crime.
The symposium was attended by the Dean of the College, his two Assistants and the Head of the Department of Law, with around 100 faculty members and students
